![]() ![]() ![]() Barbados has become a very expensive option for UK visitors with mail meals costing BD$50 to over BD$100 with a 15% gratuity expected (Too much American influence!). The Divi is a TUI crew hotel so it must be kept going financially on that contract. There were very few guests there so no proble with sun beds (although it is peak season for the Caribbean). The hotel website 'photos are accurate and the pool is a good size. It also would have cost BD$153/US$77/£64 for 2 people and there a several local 'cafes' for a cheaper breakfast. We were on a B&B deal but the breakfast was mediocre/average with cold plates for the 'hot' food which was kept in containers over small heaters and varied from cold to warm but never 'hot'. The hotel is divided by the St Lawrence Gap road with the breakfast/dining area bordering the beach. The kitchenette is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer including ice-cube maker. The lounge settee is a pull-out bed suitable for children. We had a ground floor "garden view" room (123) which is on the north side of the building so no sun! The rooms are mini-suites with separate bedroom/bathroom and lounge/kitchenette. Our week at the Divi Southwinds was part of a TUI holiday following a week's cruise. ![]()
